Chief Technology & Operations Officer
Kim Rankin brings more than 37 years of insurance, agency management, and leadership experience to Quest Financial & Insurance Services. Her career began in the summer of 1989 when she accepted a temporary position as a file clerk with American Auto Insurance—back when customer files were made of paper and auto insurance rates were calculated with a chart and calculator.
Kim quickly discovered a passion for helping clients, taught herself how to rate policies, and began answering customer calls. What started as a summer job became a lifelong career and, eventually, the opportunity to own and lead the agency.
Kim earned her Property and Casualty insurance license in 1998 and her bachelor's degree in Business Management from David N. Myers College in 2002. She obtained her Life and Health insurance license in 2004 and later completed advanced coursework in human resources, earning her SPHR certification. She continues to pursue education in insurance, leadership, technology, operations, and employee development.
Following the passing of agency founder Alan Kogan, Kim purchased American Auto Insurance and later renamed it The Insurance Pad to reflect the agency's expansion beyond auto insurance. Under her leadership, the agency broadened its personal insurance offerings while remaining committed to personal service and helping clients with non-standard and hard-to-place insurance needs.
In 2026, The Insurance Pad became a division of Quest Financial & Insurance Services. As Chief Technology & Operations Officer, Kim plays a key role in bringing the strengths of both organizations together. Her responsibilities include improving technology and operational efficiency, developing agency procedures and training, supporting team members, enhancing the client experience, and helping guide the continued integration and growth of the combined organization.
Kim's extensive personal lines experience and hands-on understanding of agency operations complement Quest's established commercial, personal, and life insurance capabilities. Together, the organizations can offer clients access to additional regional and national carriers, broader insurance solutions, and the same relationship-focused service they have come to expect.
After all these years, Kim still loves what she does—especially the relationships she has developed with clients, coworkers, and the many "regulars" she has enjoyed getting to know along the way.
Outside the office, Kim loves cooking, entertaining, and spending time with friends and family. She also enjoys pickleball, golf, and being outdoors. Her dog, Whistle, is always happy to join her for a walk on the trails. After trading her motorcycle for a convertible, Kim still gets to enjoy the wind in her hair—with the added benefit of being able to put the top up and turn on the heat when the weather changes!
